The Indochinese American Council
Founded in 1982, the IAC is a grassroots, community-based neighborhood organization for immigrants, refugees, and other minorities (African-American, African, Hispanic, Caribbean, Asian, European, etc.).
Its mission is to:
- Empower multi-racial, low-income, and at-risk minorities
- Promote racial harmony and cultural understanding through education, traditional arts, and personal interaction

through programs offering Core Education
classes such as English as a Second Language
(ESL), Adult Basic Education, Pre-GED, GED,
and secondary education, traditional
art education, computer skills training,
after-school tutoring and enrichment classes,
pre-employment training, internship
placement, job placement, counseling,
case management, referral services,
translation and interpretation services.
Staff members speak over 13 languages
including Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese,
Cambodian, Indonesian, Spanish,
Russian, French, Creole, Arabic,
and others.
